First Post

Yes folks, I know the title is a little lacking in creativity but…here we are.  I’ve just registered my domain with Super Green Hosting who run their company with no eco-impact (so they say).  They are 100% eco-friendly and so I’m proud to say I’m supporting their cause.  I think there’s something about them planting a tree every 100 visitors I get too…not sure if I read that correctly or not but maybe it will encourage you to visit more often eh?  ….  

My name is Justin and I’m a working student.  I work in a machine shop putting myself through school at Gonzaga University where I aim to get a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  Enough of the boring stuff though, my real passions lie in the outdoors, and music…the former of which will be a large focus of my site.  In the last few years my passion for the outdoors has shifted almost solely to climbing.  In 2005 I graduated from NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) on a month long mountaineering expedition in the Northern Cascades.  Although I had been obsessed with rock climbing beforehand, mountaineering really quickly became an obsession.  Now with school and work I find it extremely hard to get out there, but do the best I can.  In following posts I will submit my NOLS journal with pictures, detailing my trip word-for-word as well as my experiences on other shorter climbing trips.  Although I am relatively new to this form of web development I will also try to upload picture albums and other good stuff of the sort. Until then, get out there and have some fun!
